Write Your Own - using our template

Submissions Close Friday 30 January 2015 
If you would like to write your own submission, one option is to use one of our templates as a starting point. Our tips for writing a good submission are:
  1. Stick to the facts - for this sort of submissions, opinions don't count
  2. Be polite - never be rude or sarcastic or your submission may get ignored
  3. Be sure to include your contact details as anonymous submissions are ignored
  4. Always write submissions as if the person reading them agrees with you and needs your support to convince the authorities to see your point of view (you might be surprised how often that is actually the case).
We offer two quite different submissions. Both have been written by members of the Don't Shoot Bats team with help from volunteers in Victoria, NSW and Queensland. Read the details below and then select the one which suits you best. If you are not sure then download both, read them and select the one you feel most comfortable with.  Please make sure to send your submission in no later than 4 p.m. 30 January 2015 (Australian Eastern Standard Time)

TEMPLATE 1 The fast option
This template is set up as a common submission. It is 6 pages long and focuses on the top 5 issues and makes a strong argument for change.  You can simply add your address and date at the top and your name at the end (replacing the red text with your own details), Then send the complete submission as is by email to [email protected]. 

However, if you feel that you want to add your own items or change some of the existing content you are free to do that as well.  The template is a small MS Word document (about 60Kb).  You can download Template 1 from here.

TEMPLATE 2 The full option
This template is a more detailed document, and can be sent as it is, but is better if you make it your own by:
  1. Replacing the text in red text with the information suggested.
  2. Add a personal introduction about who you are and why you want to see the draft policy improved. 
  3. Add extra sections, or delete sections, or change things to reflect your opinions and the way you prefer to express yourself.  
  4. Change the file name to something like youname-EBPC-Flying-fox-submission.doc (or whatever name you like)
