Tell the Qld  Government:
                            NO KILLING

If you care about flying-foxes and other Queensland wildlife, let  the leader of the Liberal National Party (Campbell Newman) and the LNP representative in your electorate know that their plan to permit farmers to kill flying-foxes is not on!

Let them know that as a Queenslander you oppose animal cruelty and the killing of threatened species.

You can also download and print off this post-card, and post it to let them know that you do not support a policy that condones animal cruelty. (Note: This is a high quality PDF file 3.6 Mb)

Also see the flyer put out by Bat Conservation & Rescue Qld.   Current names and addresses of state parliamentarians can be found HERE.

Tell the LNP leader, Campbell Newman, and your local LNP representative:
  • You abhor animal cruelty
  • You object to shooting or electrocuting flying-foxes, methods which have been shown to be inhumane. Animals die slowly of wounds and orphaned young die of starvation.
  •  You object to the killing of threatened species. The LNP should focus on conservation of flying-foxes to protect threatened species and promote ecosystem health.
  • Farmers have much better choices, with netting the only reliable method. Shooting and electrocution are not effective, particularly when there is heavy flying-fox pressure.
You can also write to your local paper and support flying-fox conservation in a number of ways - see links here.
